Polly L.
Flexologist
Polly brings 27 years of experience in Zen Shiatsu, Massage Therapy, Himalayan Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Conscious Breathing, Systematic Relaxation Techniques, and Guided Imagery to Stretch Lab. She holds a BS in Fine Arts (Piano Performance), is an AOBTA Certified Practitioner, LMT, has a Post-graduate Advanced Shiatsu Practitioner Certificate for Trauma Release and Auto-Immune Disorders. She was a founding member of the Integrative Medicine Program at Endeavor Health, where she worked for 26 years with Oncology, Cardiac, Diabetes, Auto-Immune Disorders and patients from every demographic.
A gift from those 26 years was her experience doing end of life work with patients and their families.
On her own time, she assisted mothers giving birth, using Acupressure to alleviate pain for women giving birth without the use of medication. Being present at the moment of a child’s birth is one of her greatest memories.
Her first life was in the theatre as an Actress, Opera director, Pianist, and Improv Actress and her favorite places in the world are Greece, Italy, and right here at home in Chicago.
She loves to stay mobile and healthy with her Yoga, Pilates, Breathing and Rebounding practices. Her favorite stretch is any kind of spinal rotation. And her favorite quote is by Rabindranath Tagore, “Do not say, “It is morning,” and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.”
Polly is passionate about helping people stay young and feel great in their bodies and continuing lifelong learning about her many curiosities.
When Polly isn’t at StretchLab you’ll find her playing on the floor with her grandchildren or taking arts classes with her person!
