I have been a volleyball coach for 10 years. Coaching is the main reason I decided to pursue a career in health and fitness, specifically, physical therapy. After seeing many of my athletes sustain injuries and most only receive prescription medication to mask symptoms, I knew there had to be a better solution. So, 3 years into an undergraduate degree as a computer engineer, I switched to Kinesiology to learn more about the human body and how I can provide a permanent solution for various health conditions. I received my bachelors degree in Kinesiology at San Diego State University, where I also volunteered in working with patients with disabilities as well as spinal cord injury patients. Currently, I am attending the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where I am in my second year for my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Outside of work and school, you can catch me working out or playing/coaching volleyball! I love staying active on my days off because a body in motion, stays in motion! Aside from all the amazing people I get to interact with, I love working at StretchLab because it allows me to further my education in recovery and prevention. Every body and everybody is different and it allows me to not only learn about the physical ailments of those that I work with to provide true solutions, but also the personal lives of those that I am impacting.
